Upwork participates in "Know Your Customer" reviews as part of our compliance program. This is an effort to confirm identity of specified clients and freelancers. If requested, participation is required within 5 days of request to prevent account interruption.

A client or freelancer who has been asked to become ID verified should:

1. log in to Upwork, and
2. use only the unique secure upload link provided in the request
