You have the flexibility to decide whether you want to work on a project even after you submit a proposal. Whether you’ve accepted other projects or changed your mind for any reason, you’re free to withdraw a proposal you made to a client’s post.

You can withdraw your proposal at any point until you are offered a contract. After that, you’ll need to turn down the offer or end the contract. You are never obligated to accept a project you don’t want. You won’t be penalized by Upwork for withdrawing a proposal or declining an offer.

To withdraw a proposal

  1. Go to Find WorkProposals
  2. Find the proposal you want and select the title
  3. Scroll down and select Withdraw Proposal
