Zoom has come to Upwork!
That’s right, we’re listening. We heard the many voices raised over the recent changes to our Terms of Service. We want to offer our users seamless hiring at Upwork, and we have continued to work to improve every step of the journey.
As part of our continued work to offer our users an outstanding experience, we have collaborated with Zoom to integrate their service directly into the Upwork platform.
What will the new Zoom feature do?
With this new feature, users will be able to place a Zoom video call directly from Upwork Messages.
Can everyone use it?
Not yet. We want to be doubly sure that the integration is working, and that we have addressed any kinks in the system before we fully launch for all customers. At this time, we have provided access to the feature to a small group of users for testing. We’ll work to monitor the usage and identify any issues.
Don’t worry! If all goes well, you will see this feature live in your account very soon!
How does it work?
You’ll be able to place calls via Zoom directly from Upwork Messages!
- Find the call button in the upper right corner of the Upwork Message Center
- Choose Zoom Meeting
- Accept Zoom’s Terms of Service
- The call will begin and post a link in the room for all to join
- Connect and collaborate!
NOTE
Once the call is open, you can share the link from Zoom to others from your team you wish to join.
Please note that Zoom’s integration with Upwork is specific to video communication service. It will not feature chat or call recording due to platform limitations. You can always use the chat feature in the Upwork Message Center to enhance your video experience!
