We know that getting paid is extremely important. That's why we offer several ways to access your earnings. If you live outside the U.S. or India, one of these is through your Payoneer account.
Payoneer is a third-party payment vendor that allows you to transfer your Upwork earnings directly onto your Payoneer Debit MasterCard, in countries where Payoneer is available.
Add Payoneer
- Go to Settings › Get Paid
- Click Add Method
- Click the Set Up button for your chosen method
- Complete the Payoneer registration process (either by creating a new account or logging in to add Upwork to an existing one)
- When you are finished, you will be automatically returned to the Upwork site
- Choose a payment schedule and click Next
For security reasons, your new payment method will become active in three days. Remember that the name on your Payoneer account must match your verified name on Upwork.
If you want to change your Payoneer account details on Upwork, Upwork Support will need to disassociate the old Payoneer account for you first. Click here for more information.
When you link your Payoneer and Upwork accounts, your payee ID is your Upwork user ID. This stays the same even if you switch Payoneer accounts.
Remove Payoneer
You can remove your Payoneer account if you no longer intend to use it to receive your earnings from Upwork clients.
- Log into your Upwork account and choose Settings
- Go to the Get Paid page
- Scroll down to Payment Methods
- Choose the three dots (...) near your Payoneer account
- Select Remove

Update to Payoneer accounts in certain countries
Payoneer may require you to complete additional steps when you sign up for a Payoneer prepaid card if you are working in one of the countries below. Please contact Payoneer customer support directly for details.

We designed automatic payments to make it easy for you to receive your funds without having to request them each time. You are in control of your automatic payment schedule.
