The My Jobs home experience has been updated to better service our business clients and to position Upwork as a business partner for companies (rather than individuals).

The space is meant to encourage and enable teams to collaborate on a centralized dashboard. Important info is now up front and the page provides the social proof and knowledge sharing that can accelerate their use of, and success on, Upwork. Each hiring manager on the account also has a personalized view of their company activity through this view.

Individuals without coworkers will be able to use the dashboard to get started faster thanks to an updated How It Works section that provides the steps to get started. Individuals will also be able to post a job faster and get inspiration for their job posts by using modifiable job templates.

Dashboard New Features

The dashboard includes new features that will launch in 3 phases and has 4 main states.

    • You haven’t posted a job and you have no coworkers

Company & Coworkers
Clients will see their company name at the top of the page with a + next to it. Admins can click on the + to add coworkers to the shared company account.

My Jobs
If you haven’t posted a job yet, My Jobs will be empty and prompt you to post a job or check out job posts that other companies have posted (and in phase 2, prompt you to use a job template.)

New How It Works (HIW)
At the bottom of the page, we have updated our HIW to clearly explain how to use Upwork, with links to helpful resources. This section will disappear after the first contract is complete.

Job Post Templates
The right sidebar links to modifiable templates in all L1 categories. Each category contains 3 different templates that clients can edit and add onto to quickly and easily create a new job post. ( Latest prototype so you can see where they click to)

    • You’ve posted a job, but you don’t have coworkers yet (or you have coworkers who have not posted a job yet)

Company & Coworkers
Clients will see their company name at the top of the page with a + next to it. Admins can click on the + to add coworkers to the shared company account.

My Jobs
This is where clients come to find all the information about their own jobs. The My Jobs section will expand to include the following subsections, similar to Jobs Home today: My Postings, My Drafts, My Pending Contracts, and My Contracts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you update my Jobs Home?

Thanks for your question. We heard from clients like you that you wanted more ability to collaborate with your teams on Upwork. The new “Jobs” dashboard makes it easier to work together when posting a job, finding freelancers, and contracting top talent.

I don’t see XX that was mentioned in (marketing). How do I find it?

Thanks for your question. The dashboard dynamically updates depending on the activity in your account. If you are the only user on the account, you will not see all areas of the dashboard yet. To start, we will highlight tools that help you ramp up on Upwork, such as job post templates and tips on using Upwork.

I don’t see the dashboard at all. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your question. If you’re a new client with no coworkers and you have not created a job post yet, you will not see the dashboard. Once you post a job (or create a job post draft and save it), you will see the dashboard.

How do I post a job?

Thanks for your question. Depending on what you’re seeing on your dashboard, there are several different ways to post a job. If this is your first job post, you will see a large “Post a Job” button under “My Jobs.” You can create your own job post by clicking that button, or click “Job Templates” to modify a sample template and post from there. If you have posted a job in the past, you will see a “Post a Job” button on the top right side of the dashboard.

How do I see what my coworkers are doing?

Thanks for your question. If you have coworkers on the same account, you will see their activity on the right side of the dashboard under “Coworkers’ Activity.” You will have access to the job posts they have posted and be able to see the freelancers they have contracted with so that you can easily rehire them for similar projects.

How do I use Job Templates?

Thanks for your question. If you don’t yet have coworkers on your account, you’ll see sample job templates on the right side of the “Jobs” dashboard. You can select the category you are hiring in, choose the type of project, and modify the template to make it relevant to your job post and company.

What if I don’t want to see what my team is working on?

Thanks for your question. The “Coworkers' Activity” section is meant to keep all coworkers on a company account up-to-date with the company’s hiring goals. At this time, this section cannot be removed or hidden.

How do I add a coworker?

Thanks for your question. To add a coworker, you must be the admin on the account. Scroll to the top of the page to find your company name and coworker bubbles. Click the “+” and type in the email address of anyone you would like to join your team. They will receive an email invitation to join your company account.

How do I add a coworker if I’m not an admin on the account?

Thanks for your question. Please contact the admin on your account to either invite someone to join or to update your hiring permissions.

How do I rehire one of the freelancers my coworkers have used?

Thanks for your question. From your dashboard, locate Coworkers’ Activity>Freelancers, and scroll through the freelancers until you find the freelancer you’d like to rehire. Click on the freelancer’s name, and from their profile click “Rehire.”

How do I copy a job post my coworker has posted?

Thanks for your question. From your dashboard, locate Coworkers’ Activity>Postings, and scroll until you find the job post you want to copy. Click on the job post and choose “Reuse posting.”

Where did the ‘How to get quality work, fast’ section go?

Thanks for your question. After you have completed your first contract, this section disappears to make more room for your contracts on your dashboard. If you still need resources, please visit our Help Center.

Where did the Job Templates go? / Where did “Browse Other Jobs” go?

Thanks for your question. As soon as one of your coworkers posts a job or has contracted with a freelancer, “Jobs Templates/Browse Other Jobs” will disappear from your dashboard view. This allows other important coworker activity to be front and center. Need help with your job post? Learn more here.
