Request from company to be added to page

If you receive a request from a company that would like to be added to our Business Resources page, please solve the ticket with the following response:

    • Where do you offer services? Please be specific about which city(s), state(s), and country(ies) your organization can serve.
    • Are you willing to offer a special offer to Upwork users? Please describe.

Once signed up on Upwork, all users can access community.upwork.com! They can leave feedback and also have the ability to message other users within the community.

Participation on the Community page does not reflect on user’s work profile.

Community Guidelines

In order to foster the best possible Community for all members and the Upwork brand we have outlined a set of guidelines regarding behavior that jeopardize the well being of our Community and the members within it.

Our Community Guidelines are found under the Announcements area and have been copied below:

The following are violations that may result in immediate post removal, warning, board sanction and/or suspension from the site:

  • Posting in a language other than English.
  • Posting advertisements for any products or services.
  • Including your own or another person’s or company's contact information and/or email address in a post for any purpose. Including names of persons or companies (or other identifying information) in an accusation of misconduct, incompetence or other wrongdoing.
  • Posting email content, chat transcripts or other private communication.
  • Including profanity, vulgarity, hate speech, insults, disruptive or hostile comments, interpersonal disputes or threats of violence in a post.
  • Including material (graphic or text) that is obscene, pornographic or adult in nature.
  • Discussing or reposting deleted posts or warning letters or discussion of sanctioned or no longer registered members.
  • Using JavaScript or active code, making repetitive posts or otherwise taking actions that interfere with site operations. Posting deliberately disruptive and negative statements about Upwork, Elance, or oDesk.
  • Encouraging others to violate Upwork policies. Attempting to impersonate Upwork staff or other Upwork members.
  • Posting material that in any way violates the Upwork User Agreement or other Terms of Service.
  • Posting content determined to be inappropriate, overly negative, in poor taste, or otherwise contrary to the purposes of this forum, in the sole discretion of Upwork.

These guidelines are not exhaustive and the Community moderators will have full discretion to remove any content (which includes downloadable links, third-party apps and extensions) they deem inappropriate. This includes messages sent through the private message area of the Community. In addition, the moderators are not obligated to remove any content, even if it violates the Guidelines. You should understand, violating these Guidelines may have consequences ranging from a warning to banning.

Community Disciplinary Actions
Warning
Users who violate guidelines are sent warnings through private messages, Posts are also moderated (edited) or removed from public view. We do not delete posts and can recall post history if requested by Customer Support.
Suspended
If a user continues to violate guidelines after being warned, or their behavior is grave enough we may issue a suspension, which temporarily restricts a users’ access from the forums during a given period of time, usually 7 days.
Banned
Users who have not been accepted on the marketplace or are suspended from the platform, will also be permanently restricted from the Community. Additionally, a banning is the final disciplinary action after warnings and suspensions.
When banned a note is added to OBO.

If there's an escalation that needs to be sent, it can go to, communityescalations@upwork.com (e-mail not to be given out publicly).

Upwork Academy

Customers can access Upwork Academy at any time and explore as much content as they’d like. They can take a course, complete several courses, watch a video, read a relevant article and even sign-up for group coaching with Upwork Success Coaches (**Cohort Coaching).

  • Upwork Academy link (can be shared with external customers)
  • FAQ link (can be shared with external customers)
  • Upwork Academy Library (for internal use only)
    • Sort through the library’s resource type (course, learning path, video, other) and audience (enterprise, talent, client) drop-downs to get to the specific resources link you can share with our customers. 
    • Select “all” to reset the filters.
    • Make sure to use the copy link function under CS Agents when sharing resources to customers for easy tracking.
    • You can also use the search bar using keywords

How do I sign up?

You already have. If you’re using Upwork, you’ll be able to sign right into the Community by going to Community.Upwork.com or from your navigation bar by clicking the question mark and selecting “community and forums”.

How do I get started in the Community?

Check out our Community Basics page to get started and be sure to familiarize yourself with the Community Guidelines.

Will my participation in the Community affect my profile/activity in the marketplace?

No, like today your participation in the Community is not reflected on your work profile. That said, as this Community becomes more and more successful, we definitely want to find ways to give you more credit for your participation here.

How do I use kudos/Best Answer/other options/features?

I posted in a discussion but now I don’t see it, where is it?

When on the Community page if you click on your name you will be directed to your Community Profile, here you can see your latest post, kudoed posts and those you’ve kudoed.

I’ve been suspended or banned from the Community what do I do?

If you have been banned or suspended you will see a notification detailing the reason, when attempting to log-on to the Community.
