Today, when a client or freelancer registers on Upwork, they’ll need to spend time creating a new account and remember another login + password. Also, when a client or freelancer hasn’t used Upwork in a while, they’ll need to remember this username and password that they set up on Upwork or take the time to reset their forgotten password.
Experience today:
Users register and sign in to Upwork using an email and password that is specific to their Upwork account
What’s new/different/better:
Users can register and log into Upwork using a Google account
Note:
A single Google account can only be linked to one Upwork account to use for login (so if a user has x@gmail.com, it can only be linked to one Upwork account. It will be blocked if it's linked to another Upwork account). A user will encounter an error when linking the second account.
What information from my Upwork account will you be sharing with Google?

If I choose to use this option, will I have to use this every time I log in? Will I have the option to use my existing login as well?
Thanks for your question. Once you set up Google Sign-In for your account you will need to use your Google credentials to log into Upwork. You can also use your Google email address and Upwork password to log in.
Is this available on mobile?
Thanks for reaching out. You can register and log into Upwork using Google Sign-In from your mobile device by using a mobile browser (such as Google or Safari) to access Upwork.com. We are currently working to add this option to our mobile apps. Stay tuned!

I set up Google Sign-In but can’t log into the Desktop app because I don’t see the “Sign In with Google” option on the app.
If you use the desktop app, be sure to update to the latest version of the app in order to login with Google.
